IGNOU announces refund for its students

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has decided that as an incentive, it will refund the fees to those students who opt for digital study material instead of the printed ones.

The university digitized the study material for different programmes. Keeping this in mind, it has announced that 15 per cent refund of programme fee would be provided for its students who took admission in July this year.

Candidates who got admission in the university in July 2018 can exercise the option of getting digital study material by visiting www.ignou.ac.in

Steps to use e-study material

IGNOU: Login with your credentials for e-study material
  • Visit the official website of IGNOU, www.ignou.ac.in
  • On the homepage, find and click on the link which says, ‘Use digital study material, enjoy fee discount’
  • A PDF will open, read the document
  • Click on Option Form in the PDF
  • You will be directed to the new webpage
  • Login with your credentials
  • Get your e-study material

Note: Candidates who want to have the e-study material and want to avail the discount can also click on the direct link. In case, a candidate faces any difficulty in submitting the option online, he or she can submit the form on the Regional Centre.

E-Gyankosh- a national repository for storing digital learning resources

Candidates will be able to see the digitized version of the study material at e-Gyankosh. It is a national repository for storing the digital learning resources developed by Open and Distance learning institutions in the country.

Encouraging ‘Digital India’

The move would give the facility of quick delivery of the study material to students and would also encourage the ‘Digital India’ movement of Government of India.

App for e-study material on Google Play Store

IGNOU has also initiated an e-content application for digital content on E- Gyankosh and is now available on Google play store.
